This webinar will discuss recent consumer class action suits, their evolution and the trends in consumer claims and provide suggestions to help you avoid these types of cases.

Why Should You Attend:

Many recent consumer class action suits have resulted in multimillion dollar settlements and they are something to avoid. Even if a case is without merit, claims are being brought against food companies so it is necessary to keep up with these trends so you know what the consumer is targeting.

This webinar will review the trends so you know what to watch out for. Specifically we will outline the substance of claims brought by the Plaintiff – namely “natural,” “organic,” “value added ingredients,” health benefit statement, and standard of identity claims. This webinar will also review the evolution of class action suits, and issues that the consumer have overcome in certain jurisdictions, for example, standing, preemption, and class certification and we will also provide some suggestions that will help a firm avoid these types of cases.

This session is designed for food manufacturers and labelers and is focused towards helping both domestic and foreign entities.
