Assessing and mitigating risks to prevent compliance and ethical violations in joint venture operations.

Joint ventures (JVs) seem to be more common now than at any time before, due in part to the legal requirements of various jurisdictions and also to “asset light” strategies being pursued by many companies. But, particularly in non-operated joint ventures, some businesses may not be taking sufficient steps to protect their JV investments from losses arising from compliance failures - or the parent company brand from the reputational effects of such failures.

This webcast will examine practical approaches for assessing and mitigating risks in JVs, addressing the following key areas:

  • How JV agreements can be structured to promote compliance
  • What process and criteria should be used in compliance risk assessments of JVs
  • How companies can mitigate risks through compliance training, monitoring, auditing and providing expertise and other resources to the JV
  • What is the role of technology in establishing a sustainable compliance program in Joint Ventures?
