Description

Why should you Attend:
Compliance markets are primarily driven by renewable portfolio standards (RPS), which require utilities or other energy suppliers to procure or generate renewable energy for a portion of their electricity supplies. Currently, half of the states had adopted RPS and Congress is currently working on a federal RPS. The webinar will look into the RPS adopted by the states, the different motivations that drove the design of this RPS, what are the current requirements of renewable on the grid, which states are also running State Energy Programs that qualify under ARRA 2009. This RPS has in place enforcement mechanism, mostly through renewable energy certificates (RECs).

The webinar will present how different states use the RECs, how these RECs are traded and Certified. The webinar will present a comparative analysis of how the different versions of the House and Senate bills address RPS and how it will impact the overall compliance renewable energy market.

Areas Covered in the seminar:

  • The Compliance Renewable Market concept.
  • The States clean energy strategies, through their renewable portfolio standards.
  • How these RPS where designed and what are their current goals.
  • Overview of the status of the RPS in the USA.
