Read Frequently Asked Questions

This webinar provides the interviewer questions that can offer keen insight into an interviewee’s critical thinking skills. It should not be used as the sole factor in making a hiring decision.

Description

This matrix of questions will also help the interviewer determine the gaps in critical thinking training.

Jose once interviewed a Six Sigma Master Black Belt candidate using this matrix and found, to his surprise, that the candidate was lacking in basic critical thinking skills. While experience can often be a good teacher, it can also limit thinking, especially of a candidate has been repeatedly exposed to similar situations. The ability to think critically is essential in properly approaching problems so that experience and expertise are used to their strengths and not as ways to limit a person’s potential. This webinar provides the interviewer questions that can offer keen insight into an interviewee’s critical thinking skills. It should not be used as the sole factor in making a hiring decision. This matrix of questions will also help the interviewer determine the gaps in critical thinking training.

Areas Covered in the seminar:

  • Process Development - does this interviewee use structured approaches such as Design of Experiments, gauge R&R, and other statistical methods, or does this person rely on "gut feel" and prior results?
  • Process Validation - does this person truly understand the concepts of IQ, OQ, PQ?
  • Project Management - how well will this person understand how to plan for and manage risk during a project?
  • Problem Solving - how well will this person use his or her critical thinking skills to solve process deviations and other similar situations?
  • Innovation - how well will this person understand the concept of repeatability and reliability in new processes?
