Why Should You Attend:

You must attend to learn how the renegotiation of NAFTA into the USMCA will impact your business. One of the largest free trade zones in the world, NAFTA has greatly increased trade and investment among the three nations. This webinar will ensure that participants understand the key differences between NAFTA and the new USMCA.

USMCA presents opportunities and challenges to nearly every business, and in nearly every industry operating within the US, Mexico, and Canada. Understanding these opportunities and challenges will quickly become an essential element of business strategy.

26 years have passed since Canada, Mexico, and the US signed the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). One the largest free trade zones in the world, NAFTA has greatly increased trade and investment among the three nations. Recognizing that the Agreement should be updated rather than scraped, the US, Canada, Mexico have agreed to renegotiate NAFTA.

On September 30, 2018, the three nations signed the “USMCA”, intending to modernize NAFTA. In consultations with the White House, on December 9, 2019, the US House of Representatives agreed to significant changes to USMCA. The revised USMCA will now go to the US Senate for ratification in early January, 2020. Mexico and Canada have also indicated their willingness to ratify the USMCA as soon as possible.
