What Healthcare Organizations can do to reap the benefits of Social Media?

Why Should You Attend:

Social media like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have revolutionized the way healthcare organizations operate. Social media continues to benefit Healthcare institutions by improving patient engagement efforts and the way information is being exchanged by overcoming the barriers of time and distance.

However, in this brave new world of "we're all connected," healthcare organizations face an increased risk of information security breaches and running afoul of regulations such as HIPAA, EU Data Protection Directive, and several others, violations of which may lead to regulatory examinations, lawsuits, penalties and loss of reputation. Another challenge being the ability to formulate and implement guidelines which govern employees’ activities on social media and lay down parameters to ensure information shared does not damage the reputation of the institution.

Join Jim Sheldon-Dean, Founder and Director of Compliance Services at Lewis Creek Systems, LLC, and Vidya Phalke, PhD, Chief Technology Officer at MetricStream.

Key Discussion Points are:

  • The Current environment in the healthcare industry with the growing significance of social media and the threats it poses
  • Road map to leverage social media as a safe and effective communication channel
  • Role of technology in Social Media compliance
