Peter Laurens is founder and CEO of Rockwell Risk Advisors, LLC (RRA), a boutique consulting firm based in New York, specializing in enterprise and sovereign risk advisory for the alternative investment industry. Mr. Laurens has 15 years’ experience in finance and risk management, with focus on the emerging and frontier markets. He also advises on investment banking deal origination through a collaboration with MS Global Finance, LLC, a boutique investment bank in Greenwich, CT.

Prior to starting RRA in 2009, Mr. Laurens was associate director/chief operating officer of FH International Asset Management, LLC (FH), a U.S.-based emerging and frontier markets investment advisory firm, where he headed all trading operations and internal accounting. At FH, his responsibilities included credit research and analysis, modeling and valuation of credit derivative transactions, P&L decomposition and internal NAV calculation, and settlement and negotiation of distressed, special-situations and exotic debt.

Mr. Laurens started his financial career in 2000, working in structured finance valuation modeling and credit analysis at Carlson Investment Management LLC, a subsidiary of Skandia Group. He is a seasoned conference chairman, a strong public speaker and academic lecturer, and the published author of numerous articles and reports on banking and finance in the Eurasian economies, on financial derivatives and on operational, liquidity and market risk. Mr. Laurens holds a Master’s in International Finance and Business from Columbia University. He is currently pursuing Basel II banking risk compliance certification.
