Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Leave Provisions

The Americans with Disabilities Act or ADA protects the rights of US citizens with disabilities. It eliminates the barriers to their active participation in different aspects of working and living in America.

Title 1 of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits a covered employer from discriminating people with disabilities in work related activities.

Leave Provisions:

ADA requires a covered employer to grant medical leave to an eligible employee in certain circumstances. It also requires employer to provide reasonable accommodation foreligible employees with disabilities if necessary to perform vital job functions or to benefit from the same opportunities and rights acquired by employees without disabilities.

There is no set leave period mandated under this act as the accommodations depend on individual circumstances.
