Workers’ Compensation Leave Provisions

The Workers’ Compensation leave provisions protects employees from loss of pay and loss of employment when they require necessary leave due to job related illness or accidents as defined in the law.

An eligible employee must be granted a leave period of maximum of 365 calendar days and it can be extended in accordance with the section 22.1 of attendance rules.

Unlike the FMLA and other federal employee leave entitlements , each state has its own system for Workers’ Compensation and an injured employee will receive different amounts of paid leave according to the state system and the nature of injury. Workers’ Compensation benefits are administered at the state level and at the federal level for federal employees.
