Why Should You Attend:
The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) lays the foundation for the safety, security and reliability of the North American bulk power system. NERC sets reliability standards, establishes system outage tolerances, analyzes system disturbances and conducts periodic reliability audits and assessments. Reporting requirements for breaches of compliance can be stipulated within hours of the non-compliance event. The penalties for non-compliance are also severe, with criminal and civil penalties assessable up to $1m for each day of violation. Increasingly, companies must look to adopt a systematic, cost effective approach to their compliance programs that is commensurate with the risks faced.
This webinar will outline a compliance approach that leverages leading industry standards for compliance and also highlights risk as a resource allocation tool. A top down, strategic approach to compliance will be proposed that emphasizes compliance goals, culture, philosophies and policies. Methods for embedding risk assessment and management techniques into a compliance program will be discussed.
If you are a compliance professional that wants to make your compliance program more ‘risk aware’ with ‘risk built in’ from end to end of the compliance life cycle, this is a session that will help you see your compliance program in a new light.
