Why Should You Attend:

OSHA published an update of its Hazard Communication Standard to correspond with the UN’s Globally Harmonized Communication System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The new standard is designed to help employees better understand the hazards of the chemicals with which they are working. In addition, changes to the Hazard Communication Standard will affect hazard classification, labeling, material safety data sheets and training. Also, new criteria have been established for Hazard Classification in order to address physical hazards of chemicals, and chemical mixtures.

This 60-minute session will cover the OSHA’s new Hazard Communication Standard and will discuss the differences between the old standard and the new standard so that attendees will be able to adapt and apply the requirements in the workplace.

Kenneth S. Weinberg, Ph.D. is an independent consultant in environmental health and safety and toxicology located in Stoughton, MA. Dr. Weinberg has consulted for a variety of clients in industry, as well as health care and laboratories. Dr. Weinberg has worked as the Director of Safety at a major Boston teaching hospital. He has also worked and done consultation as an industrial hygienist and safety expert. an industrial hygienist . In addition , he has had a career in academic research involving pulmonary injury and disease, and has taught in several universities and colleges in the New England area.
