Why Should You Attend:
The Medicare FFS Improper payment rate for 2017 was estimated at 36.2 billion dollars. The local Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC)s are responsible for adjudicating claims based on Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) reviews and educating providers on the findings and top trends identified. Since 1996, CMS implemented several initiatives to prevent improper payments. CMS' goal is to reduce payment errors by identifying and addressing billing errors concerning coverage and coding.
The CERT program is one of the programs created by CMS to assist in eliminating improper payments.
This webinar will educate you on the CERT process and how your organization can be proactive in identifying your improper payment categories by type, specialty and geographical location, how to respond to CERT medical record request and timelines for documentation submission and overall maintain compliance by implementing proper audit and monitoring practices.
